Belmont University announced on Apr. 14 that graduate student Tyler Lundblade has been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Division I Men’s Basketball Team.

This recognition highlights the achievements of student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. The CSC Academic All-America honor is given to those who demonstrate high performance on the court and maintain strong academic records.

Brian Ayers, Belmont associate head coach, said, “Tyler was a joy to coach and his accomplishments on the court and in the classroom speak to his level of commitment in every aspect of life.” Lundblade is noted as the only active player in college basketball history to walk-on and earn a scholarship at three different schools: SMU, TCU, and Belmont. He developed from scoring eight total points in his first three seasons into one of the top three-point shooters nationally.

During his time at Belmont, Lundblade contributed to 48 victories over two seasons and helped lead the team to a Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship as well as a Top 50 national ranking. He led the nation in three-point field goal percentage, set a single-season record with 104 made threes for Belmont during its NCAA Division I era, and was recognized as Larry Bird Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year after leading in several statistical categories including free throw percentage (.934) and minutes played.

Lundblade’s academic achievements include earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average; he continues this record while pursuing an MBA at Belmont. He is also an NABC All-District selection and candidate for additional scholar-athlete honors.

Belmont men’s basketball leads all programs nationally with 20 CoSIDA Academic All-America selections since 2001. Past honorees include Evan Bradds, Craig Bradshaw, Wes Burtner, Justin Hare, J.J. Mann, Adam Mark, Scott Saunders, Luke Smith, Andy Wicke, and Dylan Windler. The program has appeared regularly in postseason play over two decades with nine NCAA Tournament berths and has won more than twenty games each season for sixteen consecutive years.
