Vanderbilt University announced on May 21 that its track and field team has secured 19 qualifications for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East First Round, scheduled to take place in Lexington, Kentucky from May 27 to May 30. Ten Vanderbilt athletes will compete in track events, while six are set to participate in field events.

The qualifiers include Faith Franklin and Josie Donelson in the 400 meters. Jayden Hill, who recently broke her own school record with a time of 2:00.03 at the Southeastern Conference Championships, will join Kelty Oaster in the 800 meters.

In distance running, Lily Kriegel is set to run the 5,000 meters after achieving a personal best of 15:45.08. Tyla Lumley qualified for the 10,000 meters with a personal best of 33:18.15.

Falon Spearman and Santana Spearman will represent Vanderbilt in the 100-meter hurdles; Falon will also compete in the 400-meter hurdles alongside Mya Georgiadis and Madyson Wilson. Donelson, Franklin, Georgiadis, and Wilson are slated to form Vanderbilt’s team for the women’s four-by-400-meter relay.

Field event qualifiers include Lena Gooden—who set a new school record of 6.39 meters as an SEC finalist—and SEC heptathlon champion Marta Sivina in both triple jump (Gooden) and long jump (Gooden and Sivina). Cali Bryant and Mackenzie Dagrosa will compete in high jump events.

Elizabeth Bailey qualified for javelin after winning at the Hampton Inn River City Relays with a throw of 51.38 meters; Sarah Marvin secured her spot with a shot put mark of 15.62 meters at the SEC Championships.

These qualifications highlight strong performances across multiple disciplines as Vanderbilt prepares for national competition.
