Vanderbilt University announced on May 26 that its men’s basketball team will host Memphis on Nov. 10 at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville. The upcoming game is part of the nonconference schedule and continues a longstanding rivalry between the two programs.

The teams will meet for the 18th time, with Vanderbilt currently holding a narrow 9-8 lead in the series. Thirteen of their previous seventeen meetings have been decided by single digits, highlighting the competitive nature of this matchup. This will be Memphis’ first visit to Memorial Gymnasium since the opening game of the 2022 season, and Vanderbilt holds a 5-3 record at home against Memphis.

Last season, Vanderbilt secured a 77-70 overtime victory over Memphis on the road, marking its first win in the series since 1997 after four consecutive losses. The renewed rivalry has seen increased frequency recently; November’s contest will be their fourth meeting in five seasons, only the second time they have played so often within such a span.

The university also said that season tickets for the upcoming campaign will go on sale soon, and encouraged fans interested in attending games at Memorial Gymnasium to complete an interest form for more information.
