Vanderbilt Commodores women’s lacrosse team is set to host the Denver Pioneers, continuing a series that began in 1999. Denver currently leads the all-time matchup with eight wins to Vanderbilt’s four. The most recent meeting between the teams took place in 2024, when Denver secured a 17-8 victory. Vanderbilt last defeated Denver at home in Nashville during the 2020 season and has an overall record of two wins and four losses against the Pioneers in Nashville. The Commodores are aiming to end a three-game losing streak against Denver.

Denver enters the game after defeating Towson Tigers 15-11 at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The Pioneers are recognized for having one of the top scoring offenses in the country, ranking 22nd nationally, and are also ranked among the top 15 teams for both scoring defense and scoring margin. As a top-10 team nationally, Denver holds a record of 42 wins and eight losses.

Key players for Denver include Olivia Ripple, who has scored 11 goals this season, placing her second in the BIG EAST conference and 28th nationally. Her average of 3.67 goals per game leads the conference and ranks her 26th nationwide. Last season, Ripple set a new single-game scoring record with ten goals in a win over Marquette. Lexie Gwaku has started all three games as goalkeeper this season, recording 22 saves and maintaining an undefeated record.
