The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will begin its run at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Women’s Tennis Championship against Ole Miss, following a first-round bye, according to an April 15 announcement.
The match is significant as Vanderbilt aims to continue its strong season performance and maintain its winning streak over the Rebels. The Commodores are ranked No. 14 nationally and hold the seventh seed in the tournament hosted by Oklahoma.
Vanderbilt (19-8, 9-6 SEC) will play No. 10 seed Ole Miss (15-10, 6-9 SEC) on Thursday after Ole Miss defeated Kentucky with a score of 4-0 on Tuesday. Earlier this season, Vanderbilt won their matchup against Ole Miss by a score of 5-2 in Nashville. Historically, Vanderbilt has only lost five times to Ole Miss and currently holds a seven-match win streak over them.
Despite dropping one spot to No. 14 in the ITA team rankings after losses to Florida and Auburn, Vanderbilt has not lost three consecutive matches this season. In doubles rankings, graduate Célia-Belle Mohr and sophomore Sophia Webster are ranked highest for the team at No. 6 nationally. Junior Valeria Ray and senior Bridget Stammel are also inside the top fifteen at No. 11 in doubles rankings.
In singles competition, senior Bridget Stammel leads for Vanderbilt at No. 9 nationally, followed by Mohr at No. 24 and Ray at No. 30.
