Head coach Bart Brooks announced on June 1 that Virginia Stuart has been appointed as the director of operations for the Belmont University women’s basketball program. Stuart, who has managed travel and other responsibilities for the Bruins over the past two seasons, previously served in a similar capacity as a graduate assistant at Belmont.

“Virginia has been with our program for the past two years as a graduate assistant and has added great value to our staff in her role as director of operations,” Brooks said. “She has done everything from organizing travel to planning and ordering meals, in addition to anything else that’s been needed. Her work ethic and selflessness have been so impactful to our program’s success, and I’m thrilled for her to officially join our staff in a full-time position.”

Brooks also said, “Virginia’s efforts behind the scenes will greatly enhance the experience of our student-athletes.”

Stuart joined Belmont in summer 2024 and played an important role during two successful seasons, including overseeing all aspects of team travel and meal planning as a graduate assistant. She also assisted with game and practice setup while helping direct student managers. In her new full-time position, she will expand administrative duties while continuing leadership over logistics such as travel and meals.

During her tenure assisting with various tasks, Belmont achieved 46 wins and reached the championship game of the 2025 Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). Stuart recently completed her Master of Sport Administration degree at Belmont in May.

A native of Memphis, Stuart graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management. For two seasons, she worked under then-Lady Volunteers head coach Kellie Harper as a team manager, where she helped facilitate daily activities, handled administrative tasks, provided support to athletes and coaches, and oversaw communication among team managers.
