Trevecca Nazarene University Women's Soccer | Trojans Draw with Walsh, Host Ohio Dominican Saturday

The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (6-3-3, 4-2-2 Great Midwest) ended their match with Walsh University (5-5-2, 3-4-2 Great Midwest) in a 1-1 draw on Thursday night at the Trevecca Soccer Complex.

THE SERIES

The series is even now at 4-4-1. Trevecca brought the series level with a three-match win streak prior to tonight's matchup.

THE MATCH

For much of the match, it looked like both defensive squads were set on the match ending in a scoreless tie. Neither team allowed a shot on goal in the first half. There were only six shots combined taken by both teams in the first half.

In the second half, the Trojan offense began to find chances and ended the period with nine total shots and five on goal. The Trojans broke through with their one and only score when Ryann Anderson beat three defenders and struck the ball solidly and deflected the ball off of Walsh's keeper. Romina Parraguez from point blank range at 71:38.

The Trojan goal nearly earned the team the win, but Walsh answered with the equalizer at 86:50 when Hannah Stein scored from just outside the box.

The Ryann Anderson goal is her fourth of the season, tying her with Makena Schlosser for the team lead.

Trevecca outshot Walsh 13-5 and had a 4-1 edge in corners.
