Week ending November 27: 4 patents granted in Nashville

Patent 16

There were four patents granted in Nashville in the week ending November 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is four less than the week before. Patents included a tuned mass-spring damper.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending November 27 belonged to James R. Knickerbocker who filed in November 21, 2017.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
