Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing strong leads in Sunday night’s fatal shooting of Eric Whigham, 26, outside 1051 Edgehill Avenue.

Midtown Hills Precinct officers responded to the shooting call at 10:23 p.m. and found Whigham down on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation to this point shows that Whigham had been engaged in a conversation with another man when he (Whigham) began to walk away. The man then opened fire on the victim and ran. Whigham was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Specialized Investigations Division is assisting in this case as it does in all homicide investigations.
