Cost of college went down for all students at the Fortis Institute-Nashville

Tuition and fees fell 12.7 percent for 2018-19 at the Fortis Institute-Nashville, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Tennessee students paid $15,234 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $2,216 less than the $17,450 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 90 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 19 students received grants or scholarships totaling $109,599 and 25 students took out student loans totaling more than $205,691.

Including all undergraduates (379), 232 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million, and 238 students took out $2.2 million in federal student loans.
