Graduates earn 216 degrees from Meharry Medical College

About 98.2 percent of the 216 degrees and certificates handed out by Meharry Medical College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Nashville conferred 155 doctor's degrees and 57 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in medicine. Data shows the school gave out 102 doctor's degrees in medicine, followed by 53 doctor's degrees in dentistry and 38 master's degrees in general health services/allied health/health sciences.

The college enrolled 828 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in 828 programs.
