Lipscomb University Beiler Named ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Lipscomb women's soccer earned spots on the 2022 ASUN Women's Soccer All-Academic Team as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Senior Kelli Beiler was named this season's ASUN Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year and she was joined on the team by sophomore Alivia Carapazza.

Beiler has collected a 3.88 cumulative GPA towards her degree in Neurobiology while starting in 16 of the 17 games she has played in for Lipscomb this season for a total of 1,192 minutes on the pitch. She has been a dominating force from the midfield, delivering crucial tackles to interrupt the Bisons' opponents and emerging as the top goal scorer in the conference. Beiler has recorded 11 goals over the course of the season, including a set of back-to-back braces against Bellarmine and UNF in early October.

The Mount Pleasant Mills, Pa. product has claimed the position as conference leader in goals, points (22), penalty kicks (3-4), and game-winning goals (5). In her efforts to become the leading goal-scorer in the conference, Beiler is tied for third in shots in the conference with 51. On the national stage, she is tied for 57th in points per game, tied for 41st in points, tied for 23rd in goals per game, tied for 15th in goals, and tied for sixth in game-winning goals in the NCAA Division I.

Carapazza recorded a 3.89 cumulative GPA towards her degree in Management. The defender is one of four Bisons to both play and start in all 18 matches so far this season, totaling 1,300 minutes on the pitch.

Carapazza has logged three goals this season, all scored from outside the 18-yard box. Carapazza is tied for second on the squad in assists with five, putting her fourth in the conference, just two assists behind the front runner.

She currently sits tied for 10th in the ASUN for points at 11 and for game-winning goals with one from her goal against North Florida on Oct. 6. Carapazza has logged 28 shots over the season, 13 of which landed on target. Her offensive and defensive efforts contributed at both ends of the pitch to push the Bisons to outshoot their opponents 311-181.
