The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (6-6, 3-3 Great Midwest) traveled to No. 2 (WBCA) /3 (D2SIDA) Ashland University (12-0, 6-0 Great Midwest) on Monday afternoon and fell 83-50.
THE SERIES
Ashland has not lost to the Trojans and now has a 3-0 lead in the series.
THE FLOW
Ashland stormed out of the gate to an 18-4 lead early in the first quarter, as the Trojans couldn't get much going on offense. In the second quarter, the Trojans got within 27-17 following a Faith Wilken three-pointer during a 6-2 Trojans run with 7:53 left in the half.
In the third quarter, the Trojans clawed back with a 7-2 run capped off by a Lili Wilken three-pointer. As time ran down in the third quarter, Trevecca scored seven straight points, including a Grace Baird three. However, Ashland continued to pull away. The Trojans made a last-gasp 7-2 run in the fourth quarter, but the Ashland lead was too much to overcome.
THE PLAYERS
Keeley Carter led the Trojans with 14 points and four rebounds. Lili Wilken had 12 points and six rebounds.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 32.8% (19-58) from the floor, 25% (6-24) from three-point range, and 60% (6-10) from the free-throw line. The Trojans had a 26-24 advantage in points in the paint.

The Trojans will go on Christmas break and resume play on December 31st against Kentucky State at 1:00 PM at Trojan Fieldhouse.
