Opening the first regular season conference game at home, the Lady Bulldogs took on the Lady Ambassadors of Oakwood. The matchup between the two rivalry teams was everything you would expect it to be: hard-fought, chippy, and competitive.
The Lady Bulldogs would take a narrow 38-31 lead into halftime. The second half would be more similar, as the two teams made a back-and-forth run. There would be 13 lead changes in just the second half. As the game would come down to the wire, the Lady Ambassadors would make a last-stitched effort to take the lead before the end of regulation. This pursuit would lead to a foul right before the buzzer. Freshman point guard Nekaya Williams would sink a free throw and give Oakwood a one-point lead. Unfortunately, the Lady Bulldogs would fall 78-77.
The Lady Bulldogs' next game will be at home on January 13th at 5:00 p.m., as they take on Southern University at New Orleans for another GCAC conference matchup.
