The Fisk University men's basketball team lost to Dillard University on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Pod Play Weekend.
The final score was 94-57, as Dillard's Kenyon Duling led the way with 22 points, and Dwight Felton added 17. Dillard had a commanding lead at the end of the first half, 42-20, and Fisk struggled to get into a rhythm.
The Bulldogs' Michael Ashley (JR/Atlanta, GA) led the Fisk offense with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Jaylen Rogers (JR/Chicago, IL) and Tyon Thompson (SO/Cincinnati, OH) contributed 9 and 8 points, respectively.
The loss drops Fisk's GCAC record to 5-8, while Dillard moves to 8-5.
The Bulldogs will head out on the road Thursday to face conference rival Oakwood University in the final regular season conference matchup of the 2023 season. All eyes will be on the Bulldogs to see if they can bounce back from a tough loss and finish the season strong.
