During her time at Francis Marion she earned 697 overall kills with .293 hitting % and 285 career blocks. When asked why she chose Fisk University, Thigpen said, "I chose Fisk University because this university holds a lot of traditions and history. Fisk truly felt like home." Fisk University is excited to have Thigpen join their team and is looking forward to what she brings to the court this season. Thigpen's high school experience includes two years of track and field and four years of volleyball. She also has club experience with Ultimate Volleyball Club under Coach Jeff Robinson and Coach Marco Quintana."We graduated a lot of experience last year so it was important this year for us to try to balance out that experience while maintaining our culture. Once the team met Yani on her visit, it just felt like she has been apart of our program for years." Said Head Coach Jessica Enderle. Thigpen is a talented and experienced player and is sure to bring great things to the Fisk University Volleyball team this season. We look forward to seeing what she brings to the team and are excited to have her join the Fisk family.
