Fisk Women's Basketball player Maya Buckhanon (SR/Talladega, AL) earned the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, earning Buckahnon her first Player of the Week recognition this season.
The 6'3" transfer from Lincoln College had a standout performance leading the Lady Bulldog offense with 28 points in the team victory over Shawnee State last week. Buckhanon also snatched up six rebounds and two assists.
The Lady Bulldogs are off to one of the best starts in recent program history under the guidance of Head Coach Victoria Crawford, who is in her first season with Fisk Women's Basketball. The Lady Bulldogs are currently 3-0 and will face Lane College this Saturday, November 19th, at 1:00 pm at home in the Henderson A Johnson Gym.
