The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (11-6, 7-3 Great Midwest) traveled to the University of Findlay (4-13, 1-8 Great Midwest) on Saturday afternoon and won 71-60.

THE SERIES

The 10th all-time meeting favored the Trojans, who are now 3-7 in the series. Their first win in the series since January 23, 2021, with a 78-63 win at Findlay.

THE FLOW

Findlay got off to a hot start as they got out to an early 15-5 lead. The Trojans responded with an 8-3 run to end the first quarter and to start the second to cut their deficit to 18-14 when Keeley Carter made a layup. Both teams would trade baskets as the half drew near. Findlay gained more ground on the Trojans and went into halftime up 41-29. 

Keeley Carter and Bayleigh Carmichel both made three-pointers to start the second half as the Trojans roared back to take the lead on a 13-0 run. The Trojans extended their lead later in the third quarter on a 9-3 run where Emma Palmer had six points. Then in the fourth quarter, the Trojans scored the first six points to extend their lead to 61-53 with 8:01 left. Findlay would get within four, but the Trojans finished the game on a 7-0 run to take it 71-60.

THE PLAYERS

Keeley Carter led the Trojans with 18 points and five rebounds. Lili Wilken had 14 points and a pair of rebounds. Emma Palmer added 11 points and six rebounds.

THE TEAMS

The Trojans shot 48.3% (29-60) from the floor, 36.4% (8-22) from three-point range, and 62.5% (5-8) from the free-throw line.
