The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (1-15, 0-10 Great Midwest) hosted conference newcomer Northwood University (2-16, 2-8 Great Midwest) on Thursday night and fell 62-60.

THE SERIES

The series is now 0-3 in Northwood's favor. Northwood won the earlier meeting this season in Midland 59-38.

THE FLOW

Connor Martin led the Trojan charge as he made a trio of threes early on as Trevecca stormed out to a 12-5 lead. Later in the half, the Trojans extended their lead on a 9-0 run where Jose Waring scored four points, and Jake Mulder made a three-pointer to make it 25-9 with 6:54 left in the half. Then Northwood's offense got going as they cut their lead to 31-25 going into halftime.

Northwood came out strong in the second half as they began to chip away at the Trojan's lead. They eventually caught up and took the lead with 10 minutes left in the game as they made it 43-41. Northwood led by as much as 55-43, but the Trojans stormed back to tie it with a 12-0 run to make it 55-55 with 3:14 left. Lawrence Brazil III and Jose Waring both had four points during the run. But Northwood finished off the game with clutch points to take the game.

THE PLAYERS

Jose Waring led the Trojans with 21 points and 12 rebounds for the double-double. Lawrence Brazil III had nine points and a pair of rebounds. Caleb Terry added seven points.

THE TEAMS

The Trojans shot 36.4% (20-55) from the floor, 19.2% (5-26) from three-point range, and 75% (15-20) from the free-throw line. The Trojans outrebounded Northwood 37-34.
