The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (2-19, 1-14 Great Midwest) hosted Ohio Dominican University (7-14, 3-11 Great Midwest) on Saturday afternoon and won 51-44.

THE SERIES

Ohio Dominican has the edge in the all-time series 7-5. The Panthers had won the last three meetings, including the earlier meeting this season on December 31, by the score of 74-57. This win snaps a three-game Panther win streak in the series.

THE FLOW

The first half was very low scoring as both teams struggled to put the basket through the rim. Ohio Dominican had the upper hand early and built a nine-point (17-9) lead. The Trojans responded with an 8-2 and trailed by two (19-17) with 1:57 remaining. The Panthers maintained that margin at the half, leading 21-19 despite eight Caleb Terry points and a Josh Goings three.

ODU opened the second half with an 11-4 run and held a 30-21 lead with 16:31 remaining. The Trojans took a 32-30 lead with 13:24 left with an 11-0 run that included a trio of threes, two of which were from Lawrence Brazil III. The lead was short-lived, however, as Ohio Dominican fought right back to retake the lead. With 4:12 remaining, the Panthers led by four (44-40). The Trojans heated up as time was running short, and the Trojans closed the game with a second 11-0 run for a 51-44 victory. Trevecca regained the lead (45-44) with 2:37 left on a Jake Mulder basket off a turnover.

THE PLAYERS

Caleb Terry led the Trojans with 13 points and seven rebounds. Lawrence Brazil III had nine points and six rebounds. Jake Mulder added 10 points.

THE TEAMS

The Trojans shot 28.1% (16-57) from the floor, 20.0% (6-30) from three-point range, and 56.5% (13-23) from the free-throw line. The Trojans outrebounded Ohio Dominican 45-39.
