Playing 36 holes over two days at the Greystone Golf Club, the Tennessee State women's golf team battled tough winds on both days of the Starks Invitational as they cruised to a second-place finish in the two-day event, which was their first tournament of the season.
TSU shot a 650 for their two-day total as they played 18 holes each day. The Tigers fired a 333 in round one on Monday afternoon, followed by a 317 today. TSU was able to cut 16 strokes off their round one total. Erin Marcelino shot a 156 (78, 78) to lead TSU with a second-place finish.
Alexandra Sadler finished tied for fifth after shooting a 159 (81, 78). After finishing with a 91 in round one, Lucia Pantigozo shot a tournament-low score of 76 this afternoon to finish tied for 13th with a 167.
Kalee Rhodes found herself in the top 15 as she finished tied for 15th with a 168 (83, 85). Kennedy Bentley placed just outside of the top 20 as she notched a 21st-place finish after firing a two-day score of 186 (94, 92). Sabria Feagins rounded out TSU's lineup with a 30th-place finish after shooting a 234 (122, 112).
The Tigers will be back in action next Monday as they will play in Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at the Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn.
