In their second spring event, the Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf is playing in the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) Invitational at the Kearney Hill Golf Links. The course is playing to a par of 72 over 7023 yards.

The field played in cold and windy conditions. The high was 41, with winds gusting over 30 miles per hour. Sunday's forecast is similar, with a high of 38.

The Trojans are sitting 20th of 21 teams, while Matthew Jeffee and Alex Hamm are the low Trojans; both shot a 79 and are tied for 65th of 124 individual golfers.

As a team, the Trojans had nine birdies. William Moser and Zane Johnson each collected three.

THE REST OF THE FIELD

Alex Bishop of Purdue-Northwest is the only individual under par; he leads the field with a two-under 70.

Purdue-Northwest leads the team competition by three strokes with an opening round 294.

UP NEXT

The team played the second and final round on Sunday at the SVSU Spring Invitational at the Kearney Hill Golf Course in Lexington, Ky.

The Findlay Spring Invitational follows at the UK Club (Big Blue Course) in Lexington, Ky., March 27-28.

The Music City Invitational is April 3-4 at the Hermitage Golf Course. 

The 2023 Great Midwest Championships are April 24-26 at the UK Club (Big Blue Course) in Lexington, Ky.
