United States Senator Bill Hagerty appeared on BloombergTV to discuss President Donald Trump's initial actions in office. Hagerty, a member of several Senate committees and former U.S. Ambassador to Japan, spoke about cabinet confirmations, executive orders, and America First policies.
Regarding the confirmation of Trump's cabinet nominees, Hagerty stated: "[The confirmations are] going to be as soon as this evening. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s going to meet later this afternoon. I expect [Senator] Marco Rubio to be reported out unanimously from that committee." He emphasized the importance of quickly assembling Trump's team due to national security challenges.
On executive orders related to immigration, Hagerty mentioned discussions with Tom Homan: "I talked to Tom Homan just shortly after the inaugural speech. Tom is going to be the busiest man in America starting tomorrow." He highlighted public concerns over immigration and crime, noting plans for legislative action such as the Laken Riley Act.
